NGC-5128 Centaurus-A

NGC-5128 Centaurus-A features drilled optic hemispheres representing the precise location and scale of stars, offering a study in light, space, and celestial mapping. The artwork interprets the star cluster NGC-5128 in the constellation of Centaurus through perforated aluminium panels, one of five star systems known to host a black hole.

The Centaurus constellation is located in the southern hemisphere. Centaurus A is the fifth brightest galaxy in the sky and among the closest radio galaxies to the solar system, believed to contain a massive black hole at its centre. The work merges scientific observation with artistic form, inviting reflection on the cosmos and the unseen structures that shape it.
